Ability Media Ltd has been established to promote equal opportunities. to achieve social inclusion for people with disabilities, and to support and encourage disabled people, their families, friends and carers by providing access to information, products and services.

With the full support of the Prime Minister, Mr Tony Blair, we aim to provide networking opportunities, information and other resources relevant to disability for the whole community. To help us achieve this we value your input and involvement.

UK-Ability websites aim to provide regional and national information about all aspects of life with a disability, including sign-posting to support, finance, training and educational organisations. Our intention is to help people with disabilities get more out of life, use the internet, find employment opportunities and identify appropriate accessible training and education. We already feature many useful organisations, but if you know others that can help, then we would be glad to hear about them.

We provide links with key agencies such as the Department for Work and Pensions, the Disability Rights Commission, the Small Business Service, and lots of other local and national support networks, many of whom have already expressed an interest in our work.

Online shopping facilities from UKshopability have also been provided, offering affordable high quality products and services from leading suppliers.

We also provide online access to Ability Magazine , our free-issue magazine which has been published to support the aims and objectives of the websites. Specialist features on issues which affect disability are included, plus features on leisure activities.

We shall develop throughout all of the nine English regions, then to Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland , providing accessible information relevant to each local community. The key role of this regional network will be to ensure local ownership, accessibility and participation.

We are interested in your views, particularly on content, design and the usefulness of the website. Please contact Ability Media, and we will be in touch.
